Course Outline: E-Commerce
This two year program teaches students how to become designers in year one and web developers in year two. Upon completion of year one, students will know how to create print applications. Students will learn how to create designs for web application and CDRom production. Students will learn how to create web pages and CDRoms. Finally, students will learn to produce desktop video. At the end of the first year, all students must take part in summer workshops or job training.
Students will be able to produce high-quality web sites upon completion of this program. There are two major focuses to this program: 1) designing effective web sites to deliver business applications over the internet, and 2) produce 3D art and animation apllications. All students will be required to complete 8 weeks of job training.

MMD2611 - (180 hours) Internet Business Strategies
This course is designed to teach students how to place a business on the internet and how to manage the development of a business web site from inception to evaluation. The course gives participants a hands-on opportunity to develop a marketing strategy, create a business plan, and implement a business plan - while requiring them to keep in mind cost efficiency and return on investment. The objectives of this course are to create a marketing strategy and business plan for your web site, identify resources to develop and manage your web site, and implement a pilot test for your web site for evaluation.
MMD2621 - (180 hours) Web Authoring and Publishing
This hands-on course focuses on the skills required to design and publish web documents. Special attention is given to your business web site. Students create the web site using basic HTML. Students will generate links and use advanced HTML features such as tables, images and frames. Additionally, the class provides practice creating HTML forms and accessing Common Gateway Interface (CGI) scripts such as Javascripts. The objectives of this course are to storyboard your website, use basic HTML to create your website, create links, and add images, forms and tables to your web site. The goal of this course is to prepare a web site based on your business plan.
MMD2631 - (180 hours) Advanced Web Authoring and Publishing
This course will introduce advanced web authoring tasks. The students will learn to modify and use the following types of scripts and commands to enhance their website: PERL scripts, SSI (Server Side Include) commands, Javascripts and Java Applets. The objective of this course is to take your existing website designed in course MMD2621 and make it more advanced.
MMD2641 - (180 hours) Designing an Effective Web Site
This course teaches students the essential steps of website from deciding design strategies to incorporating interactive elements. Students will have instruction and hands-on computer labs to help them learn the importance of the following aspects of website design: site navigation, layout, type, graphics, animation, and interactive elements. The focus of this course is to use the former design aspects to analyze your web site designed in courses MMD2621 and 2631.
MMD2651 - (180 hours) 3D Art and Animation Introduction
This course is designed to give the students instruction and hands-on learning of 3D Animation software. Topics include in this module are animation principles, planning and design, modeling, texturing, lighting, compositing, mapping and rendering, and output. The focus of this course is to learn the concepts behind 3D animation and create various objects and scenes to test the student's software knowledge.
MMD2661 - (180 hours) 3D Art and Animation Advanced
This course is a continuation of MMD2651. Students will learn how to animate items created in the previous course. The main objective in this module is to learn animation techniques of the software and to produce demo reels for portfolios.
PRM2400 - (120 hours) Project Management
This course runs in conjunction with each of the 6 second-year modules. Students will be responsible for several group projects design to reinforce their learning from the class portion of each module. The objective is to work in a project management atmosphere to learn the skills needed in today's workplace.
